Project Seashell - Hike for Heart
|DONATE to Bradbury!|
Mr. Bradbury Robert Ketelhut
UPDATE 6/10/2012 - We have achieved success and completed walking the 500 miles in 4 months in Naples, as of May 27th! The very supportive people at Heart have granted me the honor of the designation of "Lifestyle Champion" for the 2012 Collier Heart Walk on November 3rd. While I am humbled by the gesture, I still have a long way to go both in personal fitness and fund-raising results before I truly feel that this is deserved. That being said, Julee and I have decided to continue, on both exercise and fund-raising fronts through the summer in Vail. Our new concept is "Hike for Heart," and with this we will look to strive to achieve both our fitness and donation goals. We still greatly need and appreciate your help and support with each of these areas.
It's time to get healthy!
It should come as no surprise that heart disease is the #1 killer in America. There is not a single person I know who hasn't been affected by this in some way. I could name multiple friends and family members who have had heart surgery and many more who have lost their battle with this disease.
I find myself now, in my mid thirties, overweight and unhealthy. I don't want to meet that same fate. And so I've decided it's time to get off the couch and do something about it! And if I can raise money to help this important cause than it's just that much better.
I came up with the concept of Project Seashell while walking on the beach one morning. I knew I wanted to change my lifestyle and I knew I wanted to do something charitable. I looked down at all of the shells around me and a seed was planted. What if I did a type of walk-a-thon that lasted for 4 months? What if people sponsered me by either a one time donation or by donating every mile walked? What if I walked 500 miles? As of May 27th, we achieved our 500 miles walking goal while in Naples.
Hike for Heart will be our summer continuance of Project Seashell.
If you can donate I encourage you to do so. Either by a one time donation or by sponsoring me for every mile walked. If you can't donate please follow my journey anyways, or join our team. We can get healthy together.
Donations can be made by clicking on the button to the right. If you want to sponsor me by every mile walked, than go to my website www.projectseashell.com and let me know.
Thanks so much for your encouragement and support,
